Children's Church

We welcome children at Oakdale to learn about the God of the Bible through age-appropriate stories and hands-on activities. Our approach is to know our kids personally and offer opportunities for them to connect with each other and grow spiritually.

Children are dismissed for Children's Church during the worship service before the sermon starts. Teachers then lead the children in a Bible story reading followed by an activity or craft.

We are blessed to have Deb Peterson of the Minnesota Center for Reading Research exercising her teaching gifts as our lead Children's Church teacher and the head of Christian Education at Oakdale.

Sunday School

Each Sunday morning from Labor Day through Memorial Day children ages 3-18 are welcome to participate in our children / youth Sunday School classes.

Like Children's Church, the children's Sunday School class is designed for active learners with plenty of crafts and physical activities to engage their minds an imaginations in Bible lessons.

Youth Sunday School goes deeper into Biblical passages, encouraging discussion and application of the Word of God in relevant ways.

Snacks and juice are provided.

Babies and Toddlers

Babies & Toddlers

If a baby or toddler needs to be excused from worship service, parents may take their little one to a sitting area where the sermon can be heard in the narthex (welcome area) which is stocked with toys and books.  A parent may also choose to supervise their toddler in the fellowship hall where Children's Church is held.
